April is recognized the world over as Autism Awareness month - a special opportunity to educate the public about autism and important issues within the autism community.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by impaired social interaction, verbal and non-verbal communication, and restricted and repetitive behavior. In the US, it is estimated that as many as 1 in 68 children suffer from ASD a dramatic increase over previously identified rates.
In 2014, ADC developed a line of professional grade aneroid sphygmomanometers featuring the globally recognized symbol of autism – puzzle pieces. We’ve partnered with world famous golfer Ernie Els to donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of our Puzzle Pieces line to Ernie’s Foundation – Els for Autism.
And during the month of April, we’ll go a step further by giving away one Puzzle Pieces sphyg each week to a lucky entrant on our Facebook page. On top of that we’ll donate the entire retail price ($50 and up) to the Els for Autism Foundation.
