now, most of us know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. With a quarter of a million new cases diagnosed each year in the U.S. alone, it is likely we are all touched in one way or another by this terrible disease. We’re proud to do our small part by contributing annually to the American Cancer Society, Komen, and other worthy causes.

I am very excited to announce the launch of our expanded line of EENT products, also known as physical exam instruments. It is a category we’ve been working on for years. The new line of 3.5V instruments includes Otoscopes, Ophthalmoscopes, a Throat Illuminator, and a Dermascope in a variety of platforms, like portable sets, desk sets, and wall mounted modular systems.

In this day and age of disruptive technology, crowd funding, and the anonymity of e-commerce, personal business relationships still matter. From the person that packs your order to the customer service representative that answers your technical question to the buyer that negotiated the contract with the supplier, real people aren't obsolete just yet.

It seems like only yesterday that I spent my days inspecting and assembling product while Neal typed orders on our state-of-the-art Smith Corona electric typewriter. By 2 o’clock, we’d have processed our whopping five orders for the day and be ready for a nap. At quitting time, we’d head to a diner for the $3.99 dinner special, our daily compensation.

This has been a momentous year for our industry in general and for ADC in particular. From our humble beginnings in a small storefront 30 years ago, to our current position as a New York-based multinational with offices all over the world, it's been quite a journey. Today, ADC is a leader in the manufacturing of core diagnostic medical instruments.
