  • Manometer Testing

You can test the calibration of your aneroid manometer by connecting to a unit of known accuracy (preferably a mercury instrument). To do so requires a Y test kit and a unit of known accuracy.

Connect the unit to be tested to one of know accuracy using a Y test kit (Y test kits can be purchased from ADC - order part number 991). ADC's Y test kit is equipped with a number of different connectors to facilitate connection to a variety of ADC aneroid manometers.

Inflate the 300mmHg. Deflate to 5 different points - 280mmHg, 260mmHg, 180mmHg, 100mmHg and 60mmHg. Hold the pressure at each test point and compare readings between the instrument being tested and the reference standard. If the test instrument is within 3mmHg of the reference manometer at ALL points, the unit is accurate. If the unit is off my more than 3mmHg at ANY test point, re-test. If the unit remains off, return to factory for re-calibration.

Qualified institutions may request a copy of our complimentary field re-calibration guide. Click here to request this guide.
