Average Mode Technology Improves BP Measurement Results

Over 5 years ago we introduced our Advantage Plus and Ultra digital home BP monitors with Average mode technology. One of the most important recent innovations in home bp measurement, the feature averages three consecutive measurements, minimizing the variability that typically plagues individual daily readings. Averaging can reduce operator anxiety and results in more meaningful data for the practitioner.

A recent study published in Hypertension found another advantage of average mode technology. In patients suffering from atrial fibrillation, individual readings can be impacted. However, the authors found atrial fibrillation did not significantly affect the accuracy of oscillometric measurements, if 3 repeated measurements were performed.

One more reason to purchase a BP instrument with Average Mode technology like our Advantage 60226023 upper arm and 6016 wrist home digital BP monitors.
